 President Rahmonov said on Monday [May 15] that

had become initiator of holding of such meetings not for the first time.  He called on all countries to work out single approach to the fight against drug threat in


Afghanistan


.  “No one country is able to fight this evil alone,” said Rahmonov, “It is the problem not only of


Tajikistan

Afghanistan


and

Central Asia

but also of the whole international community.”   The president noted that drug production in


Afghanistan


has “tripled” since September 2001.  “We have initiated creation of the single concept of fighting drug threat in


Afghanistan


,” said Rahmonov, “Seizure of drugs on the border is just only one of methods of the fight against this evil, and we propose to nip this evil in the bud in


Afghanistan


.”
