DUSHANBE, May 26, Asia-Plus — Ms. Maria Seronshtan, Rector of Russian Consumer’s Cooperative Societies University in Moscow, has told journalists in Dushanbe  that their higher educational institution is ready to accept three Tajik students for studying under special international project.

session of the CIS council of rectors of consumers’ cooperative societies institute (higher education institutions on commerce) that was held in Dushanbe on may 26.  

Ms. Seronshtan noted that they had offered specific programs and projects on exchange of students and teachers, carrying out joint research works, etc.    

Representatives from several higher education institutions of the Russian Federation, as well as senior representatives from commerce institutes of Azerbaijan, Belarus and Ukraine attended the session. 

For his part, Safiullo Habibov, Pro-rector of Tajikistan’s Commerce University, noted that a broad range of issues was discussed at the session.  The session considered problems and prospects of training of personnel under present socioeconomic conditions.  Participants at the meeting also discussed issues related to quality of training of personnel, methods of raising quality of education as well as exchanged views on research works, according to him.  

Tomorrow, the session will continue its work in Tursunzoda, where a republican conference of employees of Tajikistan’s consumer’s cooperative societies will be held.  The session will finish its work on May 28.  

At present Tajikistan’s Commerce University has more than 7,500 students.  Of them 3,000 are studying in the Khujand Branch of the University.
