, exchanged Notes concerning the Cultural Grant Aid of the Government of Japan for the project for the Improvement of Equipment for Relay Mobile of Tajikistan’s Committee for TV and Radio-broadcasting.   

The total amount of the grant aid is 45.90 million yen (equivalent to nearly US$ 400,000).

For not less than 15 years, the lack of financial resources has prevented the Committee for TV and Radio-broadcasting from updating its relay mobiles.  The project is aiming at improving the television services provided by the Committee and hence the Tajik national TV through renewal and update of the existing relay mobile equipment.  The project envisages providing digital video cameras, DVCAM editing video recorder, color monitors and others. 

  To date, the Government of Japan has extended 141,300,000 yen under the Cultural Grant Aid (app. US$1,400,000) for the purpose of contributing to the promotion of cultural activities and education in the

. Previously, 45,900,000 yen was extended for the supply of equipment for exhibition and preservation to the National Museum of Antiquities, 45,900,000 yen for the improvement of musical instruments of the Tajik National Conservatoire and 49,500,000 yen for the supply of musical instruments to the State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Sadriddin Ayni.
