DUSHANBE, June 13, Asia-Plus – By resolution of heads of state from countries making up the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) an operation on discovering channels through which drugs are being smuggled, dubbed “Channel 2006”, was launched on the territories of the Organization’s member nations on May 23 this year.  The CSTO groups

According to information from the Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA), the first stage of the “Channel 2006” operation ended on May 29.  

The DCA spokesman Avaz Yuldoshev has told Asia-Plus that during the first stage of operation Tajik special services intercepted more than 243 kilograms of drugs.  The totaled included some 130 kilograms of heroin, 21 kilograms of raw opium and 92 kilograms of marijuana, according to him.  

Besides, 105 drug-related crimes were solved and 12 firearms were sized well as 11 criminals wanted by police were detained in
