DUSHANBE, June 21, Asia-Plus — Main celebrations to mark a Day of National Unity of Tajikistan will be held in the Rasht district in eastern Tajikistan.  

According to information from the president’s office, it is supposed that President Rahmonov as well as senior representatives from the country’s government and ministries and representatives from diplomatic missions accredited in Tajikistan will attend these events.   The source says the head of state will deliver a statement, and a concert with participation of known Tajik artistes will beheld in Rasht on June 27.  

Central Stadium in Gharm, administrative center of the Rasht district, has been rehabilitated and put into operation.  According to information from the Sports and Physical Training Committee, more than 100,000 Somonis (equivalent to some US$30,500) have been provided for this project.  

Some 400 wrestlers from various regions of the country will take part in the “gushtingiri” (Tajik national wrestling) contests that will be held at this stadium.
