            DUSHANBE, June 26, Asia-Plus – A Pakistani delegation led by Mr. Muhammad Mian Sumra, Chairman of Pakistani Senate, arrived in Dushanbe on June 25 for a working visit.

            The main purpose of the visit for the delegation is to promote further expansion of cooperation and ties between the peoples of Pakistan and Tajikistan, Mr. Muhammad Mian Sumra told journalists at the Dushanbe airport.  He pointed to the necessity of effective use of potentials commonality between the peoples of Pakistan and Tajikistan for further expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the field of education and culture. 

            Asked about bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy, Pakistani Senate head noted that that subject would be discussed alongside trade and other fields of economic cooperation.

            Today afternoon, the Pakistani delegation is expected to be received by President Emomali Rahmonov.  Besides, the Pakistani delegation is also supposed to meet with heads of both chambers of Tajikistan’s parliament and Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov.  Tomorrow, Pakistani MPs will visit the city of Norak.
