DUSHANBE, July 18, Asia-Plus — Visiting representatives of Pakistani business circles have shown interest in boosting cooperation with Tajikistan, according to information from Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).
On Monday July 17, the CCI head Sharif Saidov met with a delegation of Pakistani businessmen. The source says that in the course of the talks the CCI head briefed Pakistani entrepreneurs on main directions and priorities of development of Tajikistan’s economy, including energy, mining, processing of precious stones and metals, telecommunications, road-building, creation of tourism infrastructure, etc.
According to the source, Pakistani businessmen expressed readiness to cooperate with Tajikistan in any of those directions and strengthen business contacts with their Tajik colleagues.
“The main problems impeding development of this process are transportation and visa-getting difficulties,” the Asia-Plus interlocutor said.
