DUSHANBE, August 9, Asia-Plus — Non-profit humanitarian organization “National Center of Volunteers of Tajikistan” has announced an action on collection of funds to provide medical-social assistance to elderly people who don’t have relatives to support them.  

Ms. Svetlana Ochkilas, the National Volunteers’ media officer, says the Center is representative of international network of gerontology organizations “Age Net: Central Asia without Borders.”   

According to her, Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are also participating in this action alongside Tajikistan.  “Our volunteers take care of elderly people, cleaning their apartments and cooking for them,” said Ms. Ochkilas, “Besides, taking into account practically full lack of access to information we weekly read them newspapers.” 

Svetlana Ochkilas also noted that under support of the Russian Embassy in Dushanbe some elderly people took the rest this summer in one of resort sanatoriums in the Romit Gorge. 

For the purpose of providing assistance to elderly people who don’t have relatives to support them the Center has opened charitable account at “Tojiksodirotbonk”: № 20202972004171000000. MFO  350101216, INN 020016465.
