DUSHANBE, September 7, Asia-Plus – U.S. Ambassador to Tajikistan, Ms. Tracey Ann Jacobson, has congratulated the people of Tajikistan on occasion of the 15
th
anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence.
“I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the people of Tajikistan on the 15th Anniversary of their Independence,” press release issued by the U.S Embassy in Dushanbe quoted Ms. Jacobson as saying.
“The last 15 years have seen many changes, including the transition from a brutal Civil War towards a secular democracy. During the coming year I look forward to economic and democratic growth in Tajikistan, continued cooperation with the government to strengthen border security and combat narcotics and terrorism in the region, and expanded contacts between Tajik and American citizens in all fields.”
