’s law enforcement agencies and border troops have introduced additional security measures to provide security during the upcoming holiday celebrations.


According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), officers from law enforcement agencies and border guards have been put on alert.  A source in the MoI says that on September 9 all streets leading to


Dusti Square


in the Tajik capital, the place for the main ceremonial events, will be cordoned off by police. 


The Tajik border service said its troops have also been put on alert. ”Additional security measures have been taken to tighten control of the border,” a source said, noting that at present the situation on the border is stable.
