DUSHANBE, September 12, Asia-Plus – Iran’s Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel said on September 8, during a visit to the Institute of Oriental Studies in Dushanbe that “in the current world in which a storm of globalization is raging, those who have a common history and identity must unite and brace their roots against such a storm,” according to IRNA.

Haddad-Adel said, “Iran’s and Tajikistan”s identities are like the roots of an old tree, resisting such storms.”

The Majlis speaker said that the manuscripts in the institute “indicate that our ancestors were deep historical thinkers, so it shows we are nations with the ability to survive.” Haddad-Adel relayed the readiness of Iran”s Academy of Science to cooperate more with Tajiks.

The head of Tajikistan”s National Academy of Sciences, Mamadsho Ilolov, and Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies, Jurabek Nazriyev, and a number of researchers, scientists and experts of the academy welcomed the Iranian official.

Nazriyev said the 53-year-old institute possesses 13,000 of rare manuscripts.
