DUSHANBE, September 12, Asia-Plus – On Saturday September 9, President Emomali Rahmonov received the Afghan National Assembly’s House of People (Wolesi Jirga) Speaker Muhammad Yunus Konuni.

According to the presidential press service, the two discussed issues related to post-war reconstruction of Afghanistan’s economy and prospects for further expansion of economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Afghanistan. 

On September 8 at the Sixth Forum of Tajiks and Persian-speaking Peoples, the parliament speaker hailed Tajikistan’s support for establishment of peace in Afghanistan. He expressed hope that bilateral cooperation between the two countries would expand in future.
