DUSHANBE, September 27, Asia-Plus – NGO Internews-Tajikistan recently published a report entitled “Monitoring of TV and Radio Organizations in Tajikistan.”

A source in Internews-Tajikistan said the publication of report had become possible due to support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).  A team of Internews-Tajikistan conducted a survey on state of electronic media in Tajikistan from January to August this year.

“During this period we monitored existence or lack of socially significant programs at TV and radio companies as well as problems rising on the way of development of such programs,” said the source, “The monitoring has allowed to define an extent of social responsibility, precise understanding and prognosis of audiovisual influence of media on people.”

“The monitoring is part of a joint five-year project of Internews and DDRP and the report will be distributed among media in the country,” the source said.
