DUSHANBE, October 3, Asia-Plus – President Emomali Rahmonov Президент will attend a session of the council of CIS heads of state that will be held in the Belarus capital city of Minsk on October 17.

A source in the government said that Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov, Foreign Minister Talbak Nazarov and other officials will accompany Rahmonov on his trip to Minsk.  

According to the source, the CIS summit will consider issues related to the establishment and activity of the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation, economic cooperation within the CIS area, as well as exchange views on expansion of cooperation between the CIS member nations in addressing modern challenges and threats.  

The CIS summit will be preceded by a meeting of the council of the CIS heads of government that will be held in Minsk on October 16.
