DUSHANBE, October 3, Asia-Plus – Tajik national TV today marks the 47

th

anniversary of its establishment. 

Tajik national television went on the air for the first time on October 3, 1959 with the news program “Akhbor”.  It ran news bulletins in Tajik and Russian alternately.   The first announcer of the Tajik national TV was Rafoat Abdusalomova.   

In Soviet era, programs of the Tajik national TV could be picked up in Central Asia’s republic and through the Center TV in all republics of the former Soviet Union.  At present Tajik national TV airs 18-20 hours a day and may be picked up in all regions of the country.  At a government meeting on July 27, President Emomali Rahmonov charged Tajikistan’s Committee for TV and Radio-broadcasting with organizing satellite broadcasts of Tajik television to Afghanistan.  

Satellite broadcasts of Tajik National TV (TVT) can also be picked up in Russia, Central Asia’s states, Iran and other countries.
