DUSHANBE, October 20, Asia-Plus – Over the past nine months, advisers from Russian Operational Group in Tajikistan have provided assistance to Tajikistan in training of more than 200 ensigns and hundreds of specialists for its border troops.

A source at the operational group said their advisers had also conducted refresher courses for more than 30 Tajik border officers over the mentioned period.  

The Operational Group of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) stays in Tajikistan under the bilateral agreement signed on October 16, 2004 to perform advisory functions, provide assistance to Tajik border guards in the effective border patrolling and training of the young generation of border guards.
