DUSHANBE, November 8, Asia-Plus – An exhibition of works by young Tajik painters entitled “Painting, Graphics, Drawing” will open at the National Kamoliddin Behzod Museum in Dushanbe on November 9.

  Works by young painters from various regions of the country will be put on display in this exhibition staged by the Tajik Branch of Open Society Institute/Assistance Foundation (OSI/AF) under its arts and culture project designed for 2005-2006. 

This project is aimed at promoting development of fine arts in Tajikistan.  Under this project young painters from Khujand, Kulob and Qurghon Teppa have learnt niceties of fine arts.  “Necessary conditions were created for 25 competitively selected talented young painters in each of these cities for work and training,” Rukhshona Olimova, Media Program Coordinator at the Tajik Branch of OSI/AF, said.

According to her, works displayed in the exhibition will be donated to orphanages and schools.  Besides, an album of the best works entitled “Haftrang” will be published, Olimova said.
