DUSHANBE, November 14, Asia-Plus – A four-story building of the Palace of Youth will be constructed in the place of the Badakhshon Cafe in Dushanbe.

A decision on this subject was made at a control meeting presided over by Mayor Dushanbe Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev on November 13. 

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that the palace is scheduled to be finished in 2007.  

According to him, the meeting also considered a progress of the implementation of the water supply project in Dushanbe.  During the meeting it was decided to set up a commission consisting of members of the Dushanbe legislature (Majlis) to inspect activity of the Dushanbe municipal waterworks (Dushanbe Vodokanal or DVK). 

Telling the meeting, the mayor set tasks to take adequate measures to ensure the provision of the population with electricity, natural gas and water as well as the regular collection of funds from the public and enterprises for electricity and gas.  

Participants at the meeting also considered issues related to preparation of the draft city budget for 2007 and a progress of work on the preparation of the general plan of the Tajik capital for the period up to 2030.
