DUSHANBE, November 30, Asia-Plus – New details emerged on an incident of October 28, when two Tajik labor migrants, who were returning from Russia, were kidnapped by a group of criminals in the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

A 20-year-old resident of the village of Iskodar, Ayni district, Hilol Rezvonov, and Mirshakar Boqiyev, resident of Isfara, who were returning home from the Russian city of Yekaterinburg via the territory of Kyrgyzstan were kidnapped by three local criminals, who took away their money and demanded another 500 U.S. dollars as ransom for their release.

On October 29, the criminals sent Boqiyev to Tajikistan to bring money for release of Rezvonov.  They took Rezvonov to the Kyrgyz border town of Samarkandek.  Since Boqiyev did not return, two of the criminals took Rezvonov with them and made for the Kyrgyz city of Batken but were detained by Tajik border guards in the territory of Tajik exclave.  Hilol Rezvonov was released.

The detained proved to be Zhanat Ismatov and Avazbek.  The Isfara prosecutor’s office has instituted criminal proceedings against them.
