DUSHANBE, December 6, Asia-Plus – President Emomali Rahmonov introduced a number of staff changes at a December 5 meeting.  He dismissed more than 20 officials from regional and national government.  However, some of them were appointed to other positions. 

A woman, Sitora Sherova, formerly head of the Committee for Women’s Affairs and Family, was appointed head of the Varzob district, replacing Murod Jumayev.  Jumayev was made head of the Chief Administration for Supervision of Safety of Works in Industry and Mining.

Mansour Qodirov was appointed chairman of the Rudaki district, replacing Khol Mashrabov. 

First Deputy Health Minister Abdumuslim Temurov, First Deputy Culture Minister Ibrohim Usmonov, Deputy Health Minister Nigina Sharopova and Deputy Health Minister Ziyovuddin Afghonov were dismissed in connection with transfer to other jobs.  First Deputy Minister of Security Anatoly Kuptsov was retired for age reasons.  

In connection with the abolishment of the State Border Protection Committee, Safarali Sayfulloyev was removed from his position as first deputy head of this committee.  Ibrohim Jobirov was also relieved of his post of head of the civil aviation department in connection with the abolishment of the department. 

Amin Zoirov was relieved of his post of head of the Chief Administration for Protection of State Secrets for age reasons.  He was replaced by Saydami Zuhurov, formerly head of the State Border Protection Committee.

Hakim Soliyev, formerly Minister of Economy and Trade, was appointed to head the newly established Tax Committee.   

Gurez Zaripov, who had previously been First Deputy Minister of State Revenues and tax Collections, was appointed head of the newly established Customs Service.  

Davlatali Saidov was appointed head of the newly established Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism.

Mehrinisso Nosirova was appointed chairperson of the Committee for Women’s Affairs and Family.

Chairman of the Committee for TV and Radio-broadcasting Asadullo Rahmonov retained his post, as did chairperson of the Chief Archives Administration Shahlo Nematova, and director of the Agency for Metrology Standardization, Certification and Trade Inspection Davlatali Hotamov.        

The Ministry of Emergency Situations was abolished and its functions were given to the newly established Committee for Emergency Situations.  Mahmadtohir Zokirov, formerly head of the National Agency for Space, Geodesy and Cartography, was appointed to head this committee.  

Davaltsho Gulmahmadov, who had previously been head of the State Committee for Land-tenure Regulations, was appointed to head the newly established Agency for Land-tenure, Geodesy and Cartography.  

Former deputy governor of the Khatlon province Abduvali Komilov was appointed director of the Agency for Construction and Architecture.    

Nusratullo Salimov, formerly director of the unit for management of health system reform project, was appointed First Deputy Health Minister. 

Former director of the Dushanbe Opera and Ballet Theatre Mirali Dostiyev was appointed First Deputy Minister of Culture.  

Amonullo Ashurov, formerly head of the Antimonopoly Committee, was appointed First Deputy Minister for Economic Development and Trade.  

Major-General Sheralishoh Mirzoyev was relieved of his post of Deputy Defense Minister and Commander of   Ground Forces and appointed First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on National Security and Chief of the Main Border Administration (commander of border troops) at the State Committee on National Security.

Sharaf Faysulloyev, formerly head of the intelligence department at the abolished State Border Protection Committee, was appointed first deputy head of the Main Border Administration at the State Committee on National Security.
