DUSHANBE, December 21, Asia-Plus – China Development Bank (CDB) has provided US$70 million in loan to Tajik cellular operator for purchasing a new telecommunications system ad installing it in Tajikistan.

According to AgroInvestBonk’s headquarters in Dushanbe, a quadrilateral agreement on this subject was signed between CDB, TK Mobile, China’s largest telecomm manufacturer ZTE and AgroInvestBonk in Dushanbe in early December.   

“AgroInvestBonk has been selected to serve TK-Mobile, to monitor conduct of accounts and mortgage  issues on this agreement and future projects,”  the AgroInvestBonk source said.

According to TK-Mobile, the agreement will enable the company to raise quality of its cellular communications services. 

Cellular operator TK-Mobile was launched in 2005 as Tajik-Chinese joint venture.  TK-Mobile is the first operator in Tajikistan to provide cellular communications in the CDMA-2000 1X standard.  Tajikistan owns 49 percent of the shares and the Chinese company ZTE assumes the 51% ownership interest in the closed joint-stock company TK-Mobile.  

Founded in 1985, ZTE Corporation has been listed as an A-Share company on Shenzhen Stock Exchange since 1997.  In December 2004, ZTE was successfully listed on the Main Board of The Stock Exchange in Hong Kong.  ZTE recorded the contract sales of approximately USD 4,111 million (RMB 34 billion) in 2004.

China Development Bank, founded in March 1994, is under the direct jurisdiction of the State Council.  At present it has 32 branches and four representative offices across the country.
