DUSHANBE, December 25, Asia-Plus – In commemoration of the 1500

th

anniversary of Abu Abdullo Rudaki, the founder of Tajik-Persian classic literature, the central park in Dushanbe will be named after him.

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said in an interview with Asia-Plus that Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev had ordered to prepare an appropriate draft resolution on this subject. 

A meeting of the Dushanbe mayor’s office presided over by Ubaidulloyev was held on December 25.  

According to the spokesman, the mayor, particular, pointed out at the meeting that Dushanbe’s economic results in 2006 do not meet existing potentials.  Ubaidulloyev noted that the final results of 2006 will be summed up on January 16 and ordered to prepare appropriate statistical data by this date.  

The mayor also ordered to provide an adequate collection of funds from the public and enterprises for electricity, natural gas and water.  He also set the task to raise quality of services offered to the public.   

Besides, heads of the Dushanbe districts were charged to have completed repair of roofs of multistory residential buildings by October 1, 2007.
