DUSHANBE, December 29, Asia-Plus — Tajik government has discussed Tajikistan’s socioeconomic results in 2007 as well, as new provisions on ministries, committees and bodies under the government.

The government session presided over by President Emomali Rahmonov was held on Dushanbe today.   

According to presidential press service, by appropriate resolutions 107 officials were removed and 55 people, including six women, were appointed to various positions in the government.    

Abdufattoh Sharipov, a spokesman for the president, said that the government had also passed a resolution on implementation of the national budget for 2007 and endorsed a plan of holding of a series of scientific and scientific-technical conference, sessions and symposiums, congresses and seminars in 2007.  The government also approved a plan of organizations and use of material resources for mitigating effects of natural and man-made disasters, as well as the geology development program for 2007-2015, the population security concept for 2007-2015 and the plan of actions for the first half-year of 2007.  

Besides, the government session endorsed two agreements between Tajikistan and Afghanistan on education cooperation, according to the spokesman.

Sharipov said that Rahmonov had also set tasks to take adequate measures to improve provision of the population with natural gas and electricity.
