DUSHANBE, January 23, Asia-Plus — By the capital mayor’s resolution all unauthorized facilities in the site for Tajik National University’s buildings  are to be pulled down.

Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev presided over a control meeting of the mayor’s office on January 22 to discuss the implementation of the government resolution on constructing new buildings of Tajik National University in the Hisorak area of Dushanbe.

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said Ubaidulloyev charged relevant services to survey 82 hectares of land provided for the University’s buildings and pull down unauthorized facilities constructed in that area.

“The mayor hailed an initiative of local entrepreneur Kholov, who handed over to the mayor’s office jurisdiction three hostels of the University that had previously been privatized by him,” said the spokesman, “Vice Mayor Rustam Rahmatov is charged to prepare all necessary documents to hand over the hostels to the University’s jurisdiction.”

Ubaidulloyev also charged heads of the Dushanbe law enforcement agencies to tighten control over the implementation of the RT Law “On the Status of Foreign Citizens in Tajikistan,” according to Saidov.

The mayor also demanded at the meeting that relevant municipal services should inspect all markets and shops in Dushanbe in February over delivery and realization of low-quality and overdue products, the spokesman said.
