DUSHANBE, January 25, Asia-Plus – A joint Tajik-US training will be held at the Fakhrobod training ground, 35 kilometers southwest of Dushanbe, from January 28 to March 9, according to the border protection directorate of Tajik State Committee for National Security.  

A source at the border protection directorate said that a group of US Marines had arrived in Tajikistan to instruct sub-units of Tajikistan’s Special Force and Border Troops Committee in tactics of war on international terrorism and methods of neutralizing armed extremist groups infiltrating into the territory of Tajikistan.   

Major-General Sharaf Fauzylloyev, head of the chief staff of the State Committee for National Security, and Daniel Green, Defense Attach?, US Embassy in Dushanbe, will observe the training at the Fakhrobod training ground, according to the source.
