DUSHANBE, February 15, Asia-Plus – Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev today morning presided over a meeting to discuss the construction of memorial complex to the founder of the Tajik-Persian literature Abuabdullo Rudaki.

Seven working groups were set up at the meeting for holding an open competition among architects and sculptors on the best design of the memorial complex of Abuabdullo Rudaki.  The complex will be constructed in the Central Park that will be transformed into boulevard reorganized and named Rudaki Boulevard.   

The groups include known Tajik architects, sculptors as well as professors and students at Tajik Technical University.  One of these groups is headed by Moscow architect Vladimir Bugayev, who participated in reviewing the general plan of Dushanbe.  Members of these groups have also right to participate in the competition.   

Capital mayor noted that al those interested, including specialists from other countries, may participate in the competition.   The deadline for applications is March 31.  The winner will receive 15,000 somonis in prize money.
