DUSHANBE, March 22, Asia-Plus — “Since some political circles consider our party as “party of fault-finders” we have decided to change tactics and to become more productive,” Rahmatillo Zoirov, the leader of the Social-Democratic Party (SDPT), remarked at a news conference in Dushanbe on March 20.

During the news conference, preliminary versions of three documents projected by the SDPT were presented: Alternate Strategy of Development of Tajikistan for the period till 2015; Concept of Fights against Organized Crime and Corruption in Tajikistan and Concept of the Improvement of Tajikistan’s Legislation.

According to Zoirov, Tajikistan’s National Development Strategy (NDS) for the period to 2015 has many shortcomings.  “If we name the document “the national” it should cover all fields, while the NDS proposed by the government focuses only on the socioeconomic problems and it does not cover issues related to institutions of civic society such as political parties, media, etc.”

The SDPT leader noted that they will submit their documents for consideration of the public in the near future.
