DUSHANBE, April 18, Asia-Plus – President Emomali Rahmon has ordered to take measures to improve material and educational base of Tajik Technical University, presidential press service said.

The head of state yesterday met with teaching staff and students at Tajik Technical University on occasion of the 50th anniversary this educational facility.  The president familiarized himself research works of teachers and students at the university and gave appropriate orders on introduction of them into production. 

Rahmon was interested in projects for use of alternate power sources, fitting engines and mechanisms for functioning in mountain areas, production of electricity meters, etc.  

The president charged heads of the ministries of education, energy and industries, transport communications, as well as the agency for construction and architecture to take measure to raise efficiency of activity of Tajik Technical University.  

He also tasked the ministry of education to prepare and submit to the government proposals on completing the construction of educational building of the university and repairs to its dormitory as well as merging Technical University and Transport Institute, creating electronic library, publishing textbooks and other educational supplies in the Tajik language, reducing postal tuition, etc.   

The president also ordered to project and submit for consideration to the government a new program for development of the university.
