DUSHANBE, April 27, Asia-Plus – Tajikistan has spent $326.4 million of loan and grant funds since the beginning of the year, Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister, Zuhriddin Kenjayev, announced at a news conference in Dushanbe on April 27.   

According to him, 33 investment and 17 grant projects for a total amount of $1.325 billion have been implemented in the country since the beginning of the year, which is twice as much compared to the same period of last year ($598 million).  

The deputy minister added that Tajikistan’s share in those projects amounts to $97.5 million.  “$1.043 billion in loans have been provided by international financial institutions, $145.3 million have been given in grants and $38.7 are other non-budget funds,” Kenjayev said.  

He also said that another 20 enterprises with participation of foreign capital had been registered in Tajikistan this year so far.  “A total amount of capital of these enterprises is 53.8 million somonis,” Kenjayev said.  

“Six Chinese companies have the biggest share in the total capital of these enterprises, five Russian companies account for 25 percent of the total capital, three Kazakh companies account for 15 percent and two Korean companies account for 10 percent,” the deputy minister said.
