DUSHANBE, April 26, Asia-Plus — Days of Russian movie will be held in Tajikistan from May 7-12. 

According to Tajik Cinematographers’ Union, Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Ramazan Abdulatipov is expected to attend an official ceremony of opening of the Days that will be held at Dom Kino in Dushanbe today evening.

The event is held in accordance with a culture cooperation agreement that was signed by heads of state of member nations of the Commonwealth of Independent State (CIS) in Russia’s city of Kazan in 2006.  

The source at Tajik Cinematographers’ Union said that a high-ranking delegation, including known Russian filmmakers and actors such as Alisa Grebenshchikova and Raisa Ryazanova, filmmaker Elina Suni and producer Rustam Ahadov, led by Konstantin Shcherbakov, the deputy head of the Confederation of Cinematographers’ Unions of the CIS and Baltic, have arrived in Tajikistan to represent seven Russian movies.  

According to her, from May 7 to May 9, the movies will be demonstrated at Dom Kino in Dushanbe and from May 10 to May 12, they will be shown in the northern cities of Khujand and Chkalovsk. 

The event is staged by Tajik Cinematographers’ Union and the Confederation of Cinematographers’ Unions of the CIS and Baltic.
