DUSHANBE, May 10, Asia-Plus – Getting school-leaving certificates and diplomas has become serious problem in all educational facilities in Tajikistan as conclusion of school and academic year approaches.

Bakhtiyor Boqilov, the head of the registration and accountability directorate of the Ministry of Education (MoE), noted that production and realization of the blank school-leaving certificates and diplomas is under strict control of the ministry.

“All these documents are printed at the publishing-house Sharqi Ozod in Dushanbe,” said Boqilov, “The blank school-leaving certificate costs 3.62 somonis, the blank diploma on graduation from college or vocational-technical school costs 8.43 somonis and the price of the blank diploma on graduation from higher educational institution fluctuates from 11.64 somonis to 12 somonis.”

Besides, schools are permitted to collect 40 dirams for filling in one school-leaving certificate, according to him.

“Inspections by the ministry have recorded numerous instances of violation of these regulations,” said the MoE official, “Thus, administrations of some schools have sold the school-leaving certificates for 10 somonis and more per each”
