DUSHANBE, June 2, Asia-Plus — A two-day meeting of the CIS council of heads of customs services and the council of heads of customs services at the Integration Committee of the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) opened in the Russian city of Novosibirsk on June 1.  

The meeting has brought together representatives from Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

Bakhtiyor Sanginov, a chief inspector with directorate for international customs cooperation of Tajikistan’s Customs Service, said that the Customs Service chief Gurez Zaripov is representing Tajikistan at the meeting.  

According to Sanginov, the meeting is discussing formation of legal foundation of the Customs Union, common automated system of the transit customs control, draft targeted interstate program for introduction of frame standards of security and facilitation of world trade.    

The meeting is also considering issues related to drafting protocol on use of customs maps on movement of commodities and organization of exchange of information between neighboring countries on transit goods, etc.  

The meeting is also planned to discuss draft protocol on organization of the preliminary information about commodities and transport means proceeding via national borders, training of customs personnel in accordance with international standards.
