DUSHANBE, June 15, Asia-Plus – The Republican Coordination Council for preventing drug abuse held a meeting in the building of the Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA) in Dushanbe on June 14.  

According to the counternarcotics agency, during the meeting, it was noted that since its establishment on April 2004, the Coordination Council had held meetings with representatives from the coordination councils in the provinces, conducted seminars and conferences at schools, colleges and higher educational institutions on issues of preventing drug-using, as well as published a series of brochures and methodological supplies on methods to prevent drug-using, smoking, etc.  

The meeting also considered a progress of implementation of the drug addiction prevention program designed for 2005-2010.

The meeting participants also summed up the results of work carried out by the Council over the past three years ad plans of actions dedicated to International Anti-drug.  

Deputy Prime Minister Khairinisso Mavlonova, senior representatives from relevant ministries and agencies, as well as representatives from international organizations active in Tajikistan took part at the meeting.
