DUSHANBE, June 18, Asia-Plus – The next meeting of the Tajik-Kyrgyz intergovernmental commission for delimitation and demarcation of common border opened in Dushanbe today.  

According to Tajik MFA, a Kyrgyz delegation led by Salamat Alamanov, the head of the department for regional problems of Kyrgyz government’s office also co-chairman of the Tajik-Kyrgyz border commission, represents Kyrgyzstan at the meeting that will last till June 20. 

Tajik co-chairman of the commission is Deputy Foreign Minister, Abdullo Yuldoshev.

The Tajik-Kyrgyz intergovernmental commission for delimitation and demarcation of common border was set up in 2003 and it holds meetings annually.  

The length of Tajikistan’s common border with Kyrgyzstan is 911 kilometers.
