TICA head arrives in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, July 16, Asia-Plus — Mr. Khakan Fidan, the head of the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TICA), arrived in Tajikistan today for a three-day visit. 

According to the TICA Dushanbe Office, tomorrow, Mr. Fidan will take part in an official opening of the project aimed at rehabilitating the Kulmunda and Belayduz water-intake facilities in the Hissor district.  A total cost of the Clean Water Project is some $2 million, the source at the TICA Dushanbe Office said. 

On Tuesday, the TICA head will also participate a groundbreaking ceremony for one of buildings for the orphanage Chorbogh in Varzob.  The implementation of this project costs nearly $1 million and the project is scheduled to be finished in one year, according to the source. 

During his stay in Tajikistan, Mr. Fidan is also scheduled to hold talks with high-ranking Tajik state officials to discuss bilateral cooperation.  

Established in 1992, the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TICA) is the Turkish Government’s Development Cooperation Agency.  TICA has coordination offices in 20 countries and operates in many countries across Africa, Asia and Europe, delivering development assistance to partner countries through its projects and activities.
