DUSHANBE, August 18, Asia-Plus — A workshop formally entitled “Enhancing Women’s Conciliation Skills” will be conducted at the northern Panjakent town on August 21-22,

The workshop staged by the Public Foundation Arbitrazh under financial support of the Department for International Development (DFID) is aiming to consider issues related to  involving women in TPAC (Third Party Arbitration Courts Project) and increasing their professional skills, as well as emphasizing such services as advocacy, mediation and arbitration.

Nigora Astanova, PF Arbitrazh public relations coordinator, said that during the workshop the participants will be informed on Introduction of TPAC mechanisms and how they can be applied to improve women’s livelihood, women in Arbitration Network – experience from Russia, rural women access  to land resources, Involvement of women during the land reform process, conduction of  monitoring and focus group.

The workshop participants include the women arbitrators and staff of the Legal Support Centers and Public Foundation “Arbitrazh”, representatives from international and non-government organizations, and consultants from Russia and Great Britain.

Public Foundation “Arbitrazh” manages Phase II of «Supporting the Development of Third Party Arbitration Courts» Project in Tajikistan for the resolution of land and property disputes in support of the country’s land reform program through Legal Support Centers functioning in ten regions of Tajikistan.
