Rahmon meets with representatives from Tajik Diasporas in Russia’s Ural and Volga regions

DUSHANBE, August 20, Asia-Plus — On Friday August 17, President Emomali Rahmon met in the Russian city of Chelyabinsk with representatives from the Tajik Diasporas in Russia’s cities of Samara, Orienburg and Chelyabinsk, presidential press service said.  

More than 100 Tajik living and working in these regions attended the meeting.  

In the Chelyabinsk region alone, 12,000 Tajik labor migrants now work; of them, 500 are working in the administrative center of the region.

The meeting focused on the present state of Tajik labor migrants working there and their living and working conditions.    

The head of state pointed to the necessity of studying Tajik, Russian and English languages, handling new specialties and technologies as well as drawing migrants’ children into studying.
