KHUJAND, August 27, Asia-Plus — A joint meeting of people’s deputies of the Sughd province that was held in Khujand on August 25 elected the Sughd governor Qohir Rasoulzoda, the Panjakent mayor Khisrav Abdunazarov and the Istaravshan mayor Munim Kholiqov as members of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of Parliament), replacing the former Sughd governor Qosim Qosimov, the former Panjakent mayor Shakarbek Samadov and the former Istaravshan mayor Juma Zokirov respectively, Sughd government press service said.
