DUSHANBE, August 28, Asia-Plus — The head of Legal Consortium also leader of Tajikistan’s Social-Democratic Party (SDPT). Ramatillo Zoirov, recently visited Russia’s Sverdlovskaya region to discuss with local authorities issues related to Tajik labor migrants working in the region.  

Zoirov said in an interview with Asia-Plus that social-legal protection of labor migrants and experience of the Sverdlovskaya region in development of entrepreneurship and legal support for entrepreneurs had been major topics of the talks.  

During his stay in Yekaterinburg, Ramatillo Zoirov also met with a group of Tajik labor migrants.  His discussions with Tatiana Merzlyakova, an official with local authorities for human rights, and senior representatives from the Sverdlovskaya judicial system, prosecutor’s office and police directorate primarily focused on problems of protection of rights labor migrants.  The sides reached an agreement on cooperation in the field of protection of rights of labor migrants.  

It is to be noted that since July 1 2007, with support of the Eurasian Foundation and the Government of the Netherlands Tajikistan’s Legal Consortium has implemented a new project on legal support for entrepreneurs in Tajikistan.  

 Zoirov noted that experience of the Sverdlovskaya region in this sphere would be very useful for Tajikistan.
