DUSHANBE, August 31, Asia-Plus — Education Minister Abdujabbor Rahmonov today morning left for Roghun to attend a ceremony of opening of a news school there.  

Parviz Saidov, a spokesman for the projects management unit at the Ministry of Education (MoE), told Asia-Plus that the school to accommodate 150 pupils was built in the village of Qalai Nav in the Roghun district as part of the ministry’s education system modernization project.  A total project cost was 108,820 somonis, according to him.  

The minister also visited school # 1 in the district that had been opened after major repairs.  467,700 somonis were spent on major repairs to this school to accommodate 1,176 pupils, the spokesman said.   

The same day, Abdujabbor Rahmonov is also expected to visit the Nourobod district, where he will inaugurate the renovated schools capable to accommodate 500 pupils.  

In all, 60 schools have been built or renovated for totaling some 20 million somonis under the education system modernization project, according to Parviz Saidov.
