DUSHANBE, September 7, Asia-Plus – President Emomali Rahmon has called on national TV channels of Tajikistan to refrain from too frequently quoting the head of state, calling this “khizmati khirsona” (well-meant action having opposite effect), Tajik national news agency Khovar reported on September 7.

President Rahmon remarked this at a meeting with representatives from the Committee for TV and Radio-broadcasting on September 5 after a groundbreaking ceremony for construction of residential buildings for the committee’s employees.

The president called on them to study an experience of work of their Arab colleagues working with the TV channel Al Jazeera, according to Khovar.  “There ought to pay a special attention to efficiency, authenticity and analysis of events, as journalists from Qatar skillfully do it,” Rahmon said.
