DUSHANBE, September 7, Asia-Plus — Tajik Journalists’ Union today hosted a roundtable meeting dedicated to International Journalists’ Solidarity Day, which is marked on September 8.  

Nouriddin Qarshiboyev, the head of the National Association of Independent Media of Tajikistan (Nansmit), which is one of organizers of the meeting, told Asia-Plus that like the previous years, the meeting participants are discussing issues related to strengthening solidarity among Tajik journalists.  

He expressed hope that discussions of representatives from Tajik Journalists’ Union, Nansmit, Media-Alliance of Tajikistan and the Foundation for Memory and Protection of the Rights of Journalists of Tajikistan will yield certain results on this subject.  

The meeting is also expected to consider problems facing three female reporters from the tabloid newspaper
