DUSHANBE, September 11, Asia-Plus — During his stay in Tursunzoda, President Emomali Rahmon has inaugurated school # 7 in the city. 

This Uzbek-language school to accommodate 1,640 pupils has 23 classrooms, including two computers classes provided with 34 computers.  More than 4 million somonis have been provided from the national budget for constructing this school.   

The head of state remarked at the school-inaugurating ceremony that development of education is one priorities of the country’s domestic policy and noted that 96 new and renovated schools had been opened by this academic year.  Another 37 new schools are supposed to have been opened in the country by the end of 2007.   In all, the national budget has provided 56 million somonis for construction of new and renovation of functioning schools in the country, according to the president.  

In the meantime, President Rahmon noted that schools in the district and the city of Tursunzoda have 70 teaching vacancies.  There are 293 computer classes at local schools in Tursunzoda – one computer for 114 pupils.  In all, 24 percent of pupils in Tursunzoda have to date been into computer education.  

The head of state noted that 3,030 foreign students not study at higher educational institutions in Tajikistan.  Some 2,000 of them are Uzbek nationals.  

He said that some materials posted on the Interned are aimed at sowing discord mango the two fraternal peoples.  The president stressed that that friendship between Tajiks and Uzbeks has been tried by ages and nobody is able to blight it.
