DUSHANBE, September 26, Asia-Plus — The board (Shuro) of Tajikistan’s lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament considered a bill

On social security at a September 26 meeting presided over by its speaker Saydullo Khairulloyev. 

Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said that the board also considered amendments to the laws on the government, national budget for 2007, social security of disabled people, natural resources, insurance, and procedure of resolving issues of administrative-territorial system.   

The board members also exchanged views on number of international documents signed by Tajikistan, including government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Qatar on mutual protection of investments, government agreement between Tajikistan and Turkey on partnership and cooperation, agreement on friendship cooperation with Azerbaijan, Tajik-Czech convention on avoiding dual taxation. 

The board also considered the issue of Tajikistan’s joining convention on safe handling of radioactive waste.    

Some of these issues will be considered at the first sitting of the fourth session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the third convocation on October 1, Sultonov said.
