DUSHANBE, November 1, Asia-Plus  — 36 heads of regional city and district education directorates have been replaced over the past two years, Shermahmad Yormahamdov, the head of the personnel directorate of the Ministry of Education (MoE) said in an interview with Asia-Plus.  

According to him, eight of those 36 education officials have been relieved of their post in connection with transfer to other job, while the remaining 28 have been dismissed for unsatisfactory work.  

Over the first nine months of this year alone, 13 education officials in Khatlon, 8 in Sughd, 3 in Gorno Badakhshan and five in Dushanbe and districts subordinate to the center (RRPs) have been dismissed, the MoE official said, adding that some of those dismissed have been involvement in embezzlement of state funds.
