DUSHANBE, November 21, Asia-Plus  — The draft Tajik Law on Freedom of Conscience and Religious Unions is the focus of a roundtable discussion that has opened in Dushanbe today morning, the OSCE Center in Dushanbe said.  

The OSCE-funded event will bring together government officials, parliamentarians, representatives of religious organizations, the media, the diplomatic corps, non-governmental and international organizations.

Participants will discuss international standards in the field, the legislative practices of other countries, and hear from government officials and religious leaders.

Professor Gerhard Robbers, member of the OSCE/ODIHR Advisory Council on Freedom of Religion or Belief, is taking part in the discussion.
