He underlined the topicality of protection of state-controlled information resources, connected to Internet, cracking of which could cause serious damage both to national and international interests.

To protect information containing state secret against leak and unauthorized access Tajikistan has elaborated main normative-legal documents.

Speaking at the conference, Gennady Yemelyanov, head of Russia’s Association of Protection of Information, noted that the state-of-the-art information technologies are being widely introduced in all spheres of life and activity lately, and therefore, an appropriate protection of information is needed.  “At present problems of providing security of computer systems having access to Internet are quite acute and cannot be tackled within the framework of one state,” said he, “At this meeting, we are discussing methods to protect information and computer systems on transfer of information through channels of communications and information being in database.”

The seminar participants also discussed issues related to protection of information about personal details.  It was noted that the information protection problem consists not only in technical issues but also in human factor.
