DUSHANBE, November 27, Asia-Plus /Mavjouda Hasanova/ — Some foreign media, accredited in Tajikistan, are frequently covering events that are taking place in the country proceeding from geopolitical interests of other countries.

Participants of the three-day conference that ended in Dushanbe on Monday remarked this while adopting recommendations.

The conference, staged by the Faculty of Journalism at Tajik National University, was held to discuss issues related to coverage of foreign policy of Tajikistan in local ad foreign media.

The conference participants included representatives from the MFA information department, researchers and experts, as well as representatives from local and foreign media accredited in Tajikistan.

In their recommendations, the conference participants noted local media should provide operative and unbiased information about events in the country and materials produced by local media, including electronic media, should be available outside the republic as well.  It was noted that opening of correspondent’s offices of Tajik media in other countries would promote unbiased coverage of foreign policy of Tajikistan.
