DUSHANBE, December 11, Asia-Plus  — Two Trainings for trainers “Support for Land User’ Rights” are conducted in Qurghon Teppa, the capital of the Khatlon province, on December 11 – 12 and 13 – 14 2007.

Nigora Astanova, public relations coordinator,  Public Foundation Arbitrazh, said that the trainings were staged by PF Arbitrazh under financial support of the Democracy Commission of the U.S. Embassy in Tajikistan.

According to her, the main objective of the training is to raise land rights awareness level of farmers.  

During the trainings the participants will be informed on Tajikistan’s land legislation, ways of establishment of dehqan (peasant) farms, as well as land reform process.   

The training participants include representatives of dehqan farms, arbitrators and staff members of the legal support centers of Public Foundation Arbitrazh.  

Each of participants then will carry out at least one follow-up meeting with the members of their farms as well as their neighbor farms to share the knowledge they gained during the training.

The Public Foundation for the development of third party arbitration courts and legal support centers Arbitrazh is organized on a local, national and international level to address issues in support of the public good.  The Public Foundation Arbitrazh was registered with the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) on November 14, 2005. Currently the “Arbitrazh” Public Foundation is implementing the “Support to the Development of Third Party Arbitration Courts (TPAC) Project” in Tajikistan, funded by The Department for International Development (DFID), the UK Government department responsible for promoting sustainable development to improve livelihoods
