DUSHANBE, December 18, Asia-Plus — The board (Shuro) of the lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of the Tajik parliament has discussed the results of work with letters received from citizens this year. The meeting participants have noted that analysis of letters and complaints show that there are still many shortcomings in work on resolving issues related to distribution and use of lands, provision of the population with electrical power, natural gas, safe drinking water, passenger transport services and communal services.
The meeting of the board of the Majlisi Namoyandagon, presided over by its head Saydullo Khairulloyev, was held on December 17.
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said that during the meeting it was noted that 735 letters had been received from citizens this year. Besides, deputies and executive personnel of the Majlisi Namoyandagon received 2,632 people this year, the spokesman said.
Since the beginning of the year, the Majlisi Namoyandagon has received six round robins from disabled persons and veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and 62 repeat applications from citizens, in which they expressed dissatisfaction with decisions taken by the ministries and public bodies in the provinces.
The board also considered the government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Turkey on placement of diplomatic missions in Dushanbe and Ankara, Sultonov said.
